The Basque Country is full of attractive tourist sites in the vicinity and around Bilbao there is a very interesting offer for leisure, for travelers in search of historical and religious sites, or even looking for the cruise ships arriving to the shores of the Cantabrian Spanish. Well the good news is that there is a strong possibility that from next summer will enable direct flights from the airport to Miami Loiu in Florida, USA.
This no doubt it would be good for regional tourism in the Basque Country, because it would open a huge door of travelers from North America and even Latin America because Miami is an airport where they climb a lot of airlines around the world. The proposal already has a couple of years old and since then has been conducting feasibility studies and viability and have been following the negotiations and contacts between Bilbao Air, airport authorities and civil aviation authorities and Miami.
The idea is initially a weekly flight starting in the sixth month of next year and until the ninth season covering the summer in the northern hemisphere but if the assessment is positive the results would exist a possibility to extend beyond this period. The next November we will know for sure if this is confirmed.
