Spain is a tourist country, going millions of tourists every year attracted by its beaches, the rich artistic heritage of the country and the variety of gastronomic offers, in addition to being one of the nations most beautiful and rich cultural heritage of the world for wide variety of destinations.
Tourism, today, is one of the mainstays of the economy of Spain. In previous decades was promoted almost exclusively by the sun and beach tourism, which contributed to (and contribute) a lot more warm weather and sunshine than other European countries. Summer temperatures often vary between 20 and 40 º and many regions have more than 300 days of sunshine a year, generally dry summers. Many coastal towns are lined with hotels, restaurants and apartment buildings at the foot of the beach.
Northern Spain’s climate is somewhat cooler and wetter. Many Spanish and foreigners are attracted to the Camino de Santiago or the festival of San Fermi. There are so many cliffs, as quiet and secluded beaches. This area combines rural tourism with great beaches with good weather in summer and in the Galician Rios Bias. The main cause of tourism in the north is the beauty of the area (geography, Galician, Contrarian coast, etc) and the varied and rich gastronomy.
Spanish cuisine is wide and varied, with typical dishes such as paella, Madrid stew, the stew, Bierce ham, shellfish or fish. Olive oil, of which Spain is the largest producer, is used in a variety of dishes, and is very popular in other countries.
